Working Service Supervisor – Bracebridge
Location: Bracebridge, ON
SUMMARY
The Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the service department of a 310T dealership. This includes managing the workflow, supporting the team of technicians and apprentices; ensuring quality repairs and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and Trailers. In addition to supervisory duties, the Service Supervisor will actively perform hands-on repairs and diagnostics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Duties
- Lead, supervise, and support the service team, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Assign, monitor, and prioritize work orders for technicians and apprentices.
- Maintain communication with customers and internal departments to provide updates on service progress and timelines.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Track and document work performed, ensuring accuracy and completeness of service records.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback to team members.
Technical Duties
- Provide hands-on support with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs as required.
- Assist technicians with complex or urgent repairs
- Inspect completed work to verify quality of work before releasing vehicle
- Collaborate with the parts department to minimize downtime due to unavailable components
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed, ensuring accurate documentation of warranty coverage when applicable.
- Comply with requirements as outlined in the OHSA, WHMIS, company handbook and all other company issued memos and policies including appropriate use of required PPE. Follow business code of ethics and communicate to team.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a heavy-duty truck repair environment
- Strong technical knowledge of truck and coach systems, a 310T license is an asset but not required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- High standard of fluency in English for both oral and written correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
