New Truck Pre-Delivery Prep Technician
SUMMARY
The Shop helper is responsible for inspecting new heavy trucks, identifying any damage or deficiencies, and preparing them for customer delivery. This position does not require a licensed mechanic but does require experience with basic tools and minor installations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough inspections of newly arrived trucks to identify any damage or deficiencies ensuring trucks meet dealership and manufacturer quality standards
- Install small components such as mirrors, fairings, and other minor accessories as needed
- Conduct minor adjustments and repairs using basic hand tools
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and any necessary repairs or installations.
- Work closely with the service and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of trucks to customers
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Comply with requirements as outlined in the OHSA WHMIS, Company Handbook and all other company issued memos and policies
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- OSSD, GED or ACE
- Mechanically inclined with experience using basic hand tools
- Ability to perform minor installations and adjustments on heavy trucks
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with trucks/heavy equipment is an asset but not required.
- Must own a basic set of tools.

- Good command of the English language – written and oral.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Sitting/Crouching
- Repetitive bending.
- Ability to lifts up to 50 pounds.

SCHEDULE
- All Shifts Available
- Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
- Tuesday to Saturday 7:30am to 3:30pm
- Monday to Thursday - 3:30pm to 2:00am
