310T Apprentice – Maple, Bracebridge & Ajax

SUMMARY
A Truck and Coach Technician Apprentice, will assist in maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing heavy trucks and trailers, learning on the job, under the supervision of licensed technicians. Gaining hands-on experience, developing technical skills, and working toward obtaining a 310T license while meeting the requirements of Skilled Trades Ontario.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist licensed technicians in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Replace or repair faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, and cooling systems.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions and actively participate in the apprenticeship program
- Comply with requirements as outlined in the OHSA, WHMIS, company handbook and all other company issued memos and policies including appropriate use of required PPE. Follow business code of ethics and communicate to team.
QUALIFICATION
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Enrolled in a recognized 310T Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship program
- Working experience an asset
- Valid G Drivers Licence
- AZ/DZ Licence an asset
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- High standard of fluency in English for both oral and written correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Lifting, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

SCHEDULE
Various shifts available: all shift require a scheduled rotational Saturday
Day Shift – Monday to Friday (8.5 hours a day)
Night Shift – Monday to Thursday (10 – 10.5 hours a day)
